THE AMAZON CUTTER
The Amazon Cutter, the latest addition
to the fleet of fishing opportunities
from Amazon Fishing Adventures will
be the primary mother-ship for the
2006-07 season. Built in the summer
of 2004, this totally new floating
hotel is now available for your Peacock
Bass fishing comfort. No more bunk
beds in small rooms. Each bedroom
on the Amazon Cutter has twin beds,
extra storage spaces for luggage
and a lockable compartment for your
valuables. Each bedroom has a roomy,
private bath, and the rooms have
individually controlled air conditioners.
Located on the remote Unini River,
the Owner of the Cutter is one of
only two operators with permits to
fish this river. The fishing pressure
is light and the areas are rotated
in order to preserve and improve
the fishery. As a “catch and
release” operation, the staff
of the Cutter take great pains to
assure that all of the hooked fish
are released in good health to fight
another day.
For the adventurous peacock bass
angler that desires a remote, more
intimate setting, away from the large
lodges and crowded fishing boats
around Barcelos, and for the fisherman
that seeks hundreds of miles of productive
waters with very limited fishing
pressure, look no further than the
Amazon Cutter -- located on the remote
Unini River.
The Unini River is fast becoming
the recognized “ Big Fish River” for
its large number of fish that are
caught over 10#. If you are looking
for a river with small fish and big
numbers, this river is not right
for you. But if you are after Big
Fish and several of them each day,
you owe it to yourself to experience
the Unini River. Under normal river
conditions, you can expect to boat
about 30 Peacocks a week per angler
over 10#, and you will probably miss
or lose twice that many fish.
At the end of the fishing day, a
relaxing drink and special snacks
await your return to the boat. Later,
the spacious dining room will open
for your eating delight. Buffet tables
will be filled with an array of both
American and Brazilian dishes to
satisfy the appetites of the most
discriminating anglers.
You will be delighted by the spaciousness
of the entire facility. The bedrooms
are on the lower level along with
space for fishing equipment and an
area to do repairs on your tackle
after an explosive day of fishing
for Peacock Bass.
Next, take a relaxing, HOT shower,
and then you will want to gather
on the upper level where you will
find a large seating area, a game
table, and a terrific panoramic view
of the Jungle.
When dinner is complete, you can
again enjoy the large, comfortable
gathering room to exchange stories
about the day’s activities
and the challenges awaiting you tomorrow.
Access to the Amazon Cutter will
be by charter plane to our airstrip.

and Terms and Conditions when planning
you next Amazon Fishing Adventure.
Remember, now you can have the flexibility
of fishing in the most remote areas
of the Amazon on a deluxe, self-contained
fishing facility. No more tents or
sandy walks to the Dining Room. Everything
you need is in one convenient location – all
with air conditioning and Hot Showers.
THE AMAZON EXPLORER
The Amazon Explorer was completely
renovated in the summer of 2004 – providing
better rooms, higher ceilings, more
efficient air conditioning, safer
access to fishing boats, modern bathrooms
in each bedroom with Hot and Cold
Showers. The most popular area is
the large sitting deck on the upper
level of the boat where clients can
enjoy the beauty of the night sky
and the panoramic view of the Jungle.
Each season, the Explorer will
be located on a river where
we have
found great fishing. As water conditions
change, it will be moved to the most
productive areas. The design of the
Explorer allows it to reach the most
shallow parts of the rivers where
great fishing is often found. But,
as with any fishing, there are no
guarantees.
The Amazon Explorer will serve as
a back-up camp in case water levels
or fishing conditions change radically
on the Unini River – or if
the Unini River Camp is filled to
capacity. Primarily, we want to have
alternative locations to send you
if we have a repeat of the previous
two seasons where conditions were
very bad for several weeks. We will
announce weekly the location of the
Explorer when it is being utilized.
